Celtic Sarongs

How can I tie/knot a sarong to act as a baby sling for a 3 month old? I've heard there is a way to tie a sarong so that you can carry a baby around but I'm not quite sure which way to do it. Pictures would be good, but any instructions would be helpful.

How do I tie a sarong correctly without it falling down? I just received a sarong from my friend on my birthday. The problem is, I'm not sure of how wear and tie it. It keeps falling down and please don't say I have to resort to duct tape... =_=;

Hey, I have always wondered how Kida tied her skirt-thing, and I just watched the movie with my little sister and it's really been bugging me. Anybody know how to make a top out of a sarong/big piece of material? I have seen girls wearing these wraparound type tops that they say one needs a piece of material (about 1x1.7m) for. I just don't know how to wrap it- I think it ties around the neck. not sure if it crosses in front of the neck or not. Can anybody help?

My friend wants some afrocentric wrap skirts (sarong) but the only ones we've found are more polynesian style print. we found a fabric store that has some african print sarong materiall but we dont know how to put the fringe on the end. the knotted fringe is important to her because she takes the fringe and ties it together to close the skirt so that it doesn't blow open or reveal her thighs when she walks. Wedding guest attire for hawaiian theme wedding? My fiance and I are having a hawaiian themed wedding. We would like our guests to come in nice hawaiian attire, but we don't want jeans and t-shirts. I am afraid if I put "casual" on the invitation, that's what we'll end up with. How can I tell my guests that although it's not black-tie, it's not jeans and t-shirts either. In Spain I have 200 silk dresses sold at 20 $ each .all have small defect, stain). What NGO can i donate it to I sold it in my shop and this are the leftovers. The silk is low quality silk, made in India, but silk it is. They are reversible sometimes two layered large dresses tied up as sarong (pareo) over the hip. I would like it to arive to women in need who usually enjoy warm weather. It fits in a box about 80 Cmx50 Cm *50 Cm, i guess some 20-30 KG.

Not a question but some parents are doing a poor job raising their daughters? I was at the mall,there were two girls in seperate groups. One girl was 7ish and her skirt was so short it didnt even cover her underware,no kidding,I wanted to slap her mother in the face!That poor little girl being subjected to perverts bc her mother wont dress her properly. The other girl about 9 had a beach skirt on with a tie(not a sarong) it wasnt tied tightly and you could see half her butt and underware. Have people no morals? And whats up with little girls wearing short dresses to a park with no shorts underneath? Are people this clueless to all the pervs? Does Israel have any indigenous fabric arts - e.g. like ethnic patterns or design prints? For Asia, is it ok for a man to wear a sarong with bare feet ( no sandals ) whilst traveling thru Asia? I think a sarong is the best clothing garment ever made. Its most comfortable and versatile and perfect for traveling thru warm climates. Its takes minutes to wash, easy to dry simple to pack a few in the back pack, easy to change into. As I enjoy being barefoot, it leaves me to only pack sarongs and t-shirts ! I would be keen to hear what colors are best to wear outside, and what kind of height should one tie the sarong above the ankles ? Currently I keep it as close to the ankles as possible ( would prefer to have it higher ).

do you know those hippie skirts that are one big peice of fabric with ties on the ends? no, not a sarong. there are 3 little holes along the top for you to string the tie through, as well as 2 belt loops. i really love these skirts and would like to order a few, but dont know what to call them or where to find them. thanks for your help i am not sure what an asian house skirt is, but if it is made from crinkly fabric, than it is not what i am talking about. i bought one once at a flea market, and it was definately mass produced. i tried to get in touch with that co. but to no avail
